Winnebago Porto Review
Porto is fairly new to Winnebago’s lineup of Class C motorhomes. It has been getting lots of positive feedbacks from the RV community because of its quality, performance, and value.
The diesel-powered Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis is known for its fuel economy. Larger motorhomes with the same frame can go for 16 to 18 mpg. Since Porto is lighter, you can expect to cover more distance.
Porto is equipped with 2 deep-cycle, Group 31 RV batteries, a 3,600-watt Cummins Onan® MicroQuiet™ LP generator, a 1,000-watt pure sine wave DC/AC inverter, and two 100-watt solar panels. The holding tanks of this motorhome also has a large capacity. This means you can go off-grid for an extended period. We all know that some of the most beautiful places are in remote areas so this means a lot for those who want to savor these views a little bit more.
Another great thing about Porto is that it never seems to run out of storage space for all your travels stuff. You can customize some cabinets to maximize its capacity.
One common concern raised regarding this motorhome is the lack of counterspace in the kitchen. You have to keep the sink covered to be able to use that area for your food preparation.
Also, Porto is on a limited supply basis. You would think that something this good should be made more available to the public.
Pros
- extended off-the-grid use
- ample storage space
- fuel efficiency
Cons
- dealer stock only
- limited kitchen counter space
The Verdict
Winnebago Porto is ideal for couples and small families. It is a luxurious coach that’ll allow you to travel in comfort and style without forgetting your need to have fun and enjoy the outdoors. You have the freedom to go wherever you want to go without worrying about how long you can stay or if you can make it to your destination. And the best part is that this diesel pusher is more budget friendly. It is definitely value for your money.
