When did Winnebago start making Navion?

Navion used to be under the Itasca line of RVs but still from the same manufacturer. However, the producers decided to phase out their Itasca RVs to put the spotlight solely on the Winnebago brand. So, from Itasca Navion, the new models were named Winnebago Navion.

The first model of this Class C motorhome was released in 2006. It was built on a Mercedes-Benz unit with a 5 cylinder turbo diesel engine coupled to a 5-speed automatic transmission.

The 2006 Itasca Navion was available in 2 colors – Storm Gray with orange and bright yellow and Storm Gray with vivid blue and bright yellow. It was offered in 2 floorplans – 23H and 23J.

The 23H floor plan had a very spacious living area. Aside from the cab seats, there’s the sofa bed and the dinette was across it. The overhead bed was at the cab area. Beside the dinette were the refrigerator and pantry. At the other side were the 3-burner range top, microwave/ convection oven, and a stainless steel sink. The rearmost portion had a shower area, toilet, and wardrobe cabinet.

The 23J floor plan offered a different configuration. At the cab area was an overhead bed but buyers had the option to convert it into a front storage cabinet. There was a dinette at the living area. The kitchen was to the left of the main door. The rear portion of the motorhome was divided into a bedroom and full bathroom.
