Winnebago Spirit Review

The Spirit has been in the market for a long time as it traces its beginning way back when Winnebago still carried the Itasca line. From then until now, Spirit has carried with it the manufacturers’ quality of workmanship.

As we did our research regarding customer feedbacks about this Class C motorhome, we noted that it has garnered mostly positive reviews from its owners.

Many people were raving because it was a family friendly camper that could be driven easily. It can take you and your family to more places because its size isn’t too huge. Many users say they feel comfortable driving it because it’s just like a van. It also makes use of advanced technology to help the driver make those long drives easier and safer.

The screen door, large windows, and roof vents allow for good ventilation and light to enter the motorhome. You can enjoy natural light and fresh air while you’re at camp. This also means you conserve your RV’s power.

Winnebago has maximized the space to allocate storage spaces for all your travel stuff – from your outdoor gears, sports equipment, folding furniture, and a lot more. You can pack your things and take them out without any hassle whenever you need them. You also won’t have a hard time keeping your stuff organized.

Some say that there’s limited headroom depending on the floor plan. This is due to the overhead cabinets or the cabover bunk.

Spirit used to be a part of the Itasca RV line up until the manufacturers decided to integrate all their RVs under one brand.

When did Winnebago start making the Spirit?

Spirit was first launched under the Itasca RV line. The first model was released in 1989. It was made to offer all the comforts and efficiency of bigger motorhomes but in a more affordable package.

The 1989 Class C Spirit was available in 5 floorplans. It was built with locking joint wall and floor construction, steel cab, dash, and firewall structure, welded steel wall, and sealed aluminum underflooring.

This motorhome featured swivel/reclining cab seats, plush carpeting, a 54″x76″ cabover bunk aside from the main bed, complete toilet and shower, generous storage spaces, 2-door refrigerator, 4 burner stove, and stainless steel sink.

Winnebago and Itasca RVs were from the same manufacturers. In November 2015, the makers decided to drop the Itasca line in an effort to emphasize the Winnebago brand. From then on, this motorhome was included in the Winnebago RV line.
