Fort Stevens State Park

The Astoria/Warrenton/Seaside KOA is located immediately across the street near Fort Stevens State Park, even though it is not exactly on the beach, it still tops this list of successful campsites in Oregon owing to its closeness to so many fantastic beaches. Cannon Beach is only a short distance away, as is Fort Stevens.
Fans of the Goonies will enjoy visiting the village of Astoria, which served as the setting for the film. The Lewis and Clark National Historical Park at Fort Clatsop is just a short drive away for history aficionados. Also worth a visit is the Columbia River Maritime Museum, which features displays on the city’s history as well as the influence of the coast and river on Oregon’s growth.

The noise of the sea reverberates across Nehalem Bay State Park’s campground. The campsite is located between both the dunes and a pine forest on the four-mile-long sand spit.
The campground is one of a kind because it includes a small airport and a fly-in camp! This is also a popular tourist destination for horseback riders, who will discover primitive horse campsites as well as miles of coastline and riding routes. There is also a horseback riding outfitter that always takes you all around the beach.
Hikers and bikers flock to the region because it allows them to cycle or hike around the bay while observing nature. Kayaking, clamming, crabbing, and fishing are just a few of the activities available at the park.
There are 265 electric and water sites at the RV park. There have been no sewer hookups, but there is still a dump station, showers, and flush toilets on the premises. This campground is famous, so make a reservation ahead of time to ensure a space for you and your companions!

Depoe Bay is a seven-mile stretch of sandy beach between Newport and Lincoln City that is ideal for RV camping. The campsites at Sea and Sand RV Park have spectacular ocean views. There are also woodland spots just a quick walk to the shore.
The RV park itself has a lot to offer. Agates, shells, and even Japanese floats wash up on the beach on a regular basis, making beachcombing very profitable. Depoe Bay is also a fantastic spot for whale viewing even during grey whale migratory period.
Depoe Bay is a great place to visit if you want to learn more about the area. Salishan Resort, which is less than a mile away and noted for its superb retail and golfing, will be less than a mile down the road. In Depoe Bay, charter boats are preparing to meet you out on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, whether it’s whale viewing or deep-sea angling. Outlet stores, aquariums, casinos, and other attractions may be found between Lincoln City and Newport.
Another thing to remember at Sea and Sand is that throughout their tourist period, from July to September, you can only stay for 14 nights on an ocean property. There really is no maximum occupancy at other periods of the year. Ask about savings but if you’re a Good Sam member or active duty military member.

Sunset Bay State Park

Sunset Bay State Park is located in one of the most gorgeous regions on the Oregon coast, with lovely sandy beaches sheltered by high sea cliffs. The campground, which is only a quick walk from the beach, offers tents and RV camping as well as snug and comfy yurts. Beachcombing, fishing, swimming, and boating are all accessible at day-use and picnicking areas placed all along the bay.
Sunset Bay is connected to the state parks of Shore Acres and Cape Arago by a network of hiking routes. Hiking these routes will allow you to see natural coastal forests, periodic wildflowers, and breathtaking ocean views from the craggy cliffs and headlands. The sight of Gregory Point and the Cape Arago lighthouse can be had from several spots along the walk.

Harris Beach State Park

George Scott Harris, a Scottish pioneer who came here in the late 1880s to farm sheep and cattle, was honored with the title Harris Beach State Park. The park has the biggest island off the coast of Oregon and is an excellent place to camp near Portland. Bird Island (also known as Goat Island) is a National Wildlife Sanctuary where rare birds including the tufted puffin breed. White sandy beaches are interspersed with rocky outcroppings that house intriguing tide pools with a diverse range of life. Just off the coast, sea stacks dot the water.
The whole Oregon coast is stunning, however, the southern coast, with its lush forests pressed up against soft sand beaches and rocky views is much more than that. Discover the tidal pools at Harris Beach State Park’s beaches, or set up a picnic blanket on the sand to spot grey whales. Throughout the summer, this park will be packed with RVs and tent campers, although in the winter, when you can watch huge storms sweep across the coastline, the crowds will drop away.

South Beach State Park

South Beach State Park, which starts in south Newport and extends many miles down the Oregon coast, is located near the Yaquina Bay Bridge. This historical park connects directly to miles of wide, sandy beaches as well as walking and bike trails. This can be your starting point for exploring Newport, located immediately south of the South Jetty.
The Jetty Trail is a great spot to jog or ride a bike because it is paved. The South Jetty equestrian trailhead is where we start our equestrian track to the beach. Enjoy a magnificent sunset while riding near the trailhead!
Nearby this campground is a playground, horseshoe pits, and a 9-hole disc golf course. Visit the Hospitality Center for maps, pamphlets, mementos, and camp goods, as well as to borrow free discs and horseshoes.
Beaver Creek Natural Area, 7 miles south of the park, with a freshwater marsh and forested uplands to explore. On such a clear day, five miles of trails weave through the marsh and out into the woodland and meadows, providing views of the ocean. RV Camping along the Oregon Coast for Free
If you didn’t know, you are very much free to camp around the Oregon Coast free of charge! Let’s talk about how you can do this alone or even with your friends and family!
Beach RV Camping!
If you really want to camp for free while in Oregon, you have a few possibilities, but they are restricted. On some beaches, overnight camp is permitted, although there are some limitations. Visitors cannot be within the city boundaries of Cannon Beach, Lincoln City, Seaside, Newport, Bandon, Gold Beach, Rockaway Beach, or Manzanita, or near to a nature preserve. Guests are allowed to camp outside of these zones if they really can find a place in which they can go onto the beach. Remember that these spots are few and far between and that they may not be reachable by car. This means that, for most RVers, this is not a viable alternative.
Areas for Resting
Oregon’s boondocking rules are relatively lenient, allowing you to stay up to 12 hours at a rest stop or public parking lot with no written limitations. Before attempting this, make sure there are no signs restricting overnight stays.
National Forests and BLM Land
The greatest place to camp for leisure near a beach is in one of the numerous national forests that line the coast. The state forests of Siuslaw, Rogue-River Siskiyou, and Tillamook are all placed along the coastline. Within certain areas, there’s a few scattered camping spots. If you really can find a pullout fit for your rig, one can camp all along forest trails as well.
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land in the vicinity is yet another alternative. RVers flock to Bastendorff Beach on the southern coast for an overnight stay. Camping is free, however you must remain for no more than 14 days.
