Ron Nash created Northwood Manufacturing in 1993. Northwood Manufacturing is a privately held company. The Northwood Corporation employs over 400 people, making it one of the major private-sector employers in the region. Northwood Manufacturing is located just outside of La Grande, in northeastern Oregon, in the heart of the gorgeous Blue Mountains, and employs over 100 people.
Northwood Manufacturing’s Arctic Fox fifth wheel and travel trailers are the company’s most well-known product lines. A large list of standard features that would make most manufacturers blush is available to you from them. The amenities are combined with high-quality construction and engineering to create a level of customer loyalty that is uncommon in the recreational vehicle market.
It would be impossible to do credit to the Arctic Fox product range by just reciting a laundry list of features and benefits. You must go inside, outdoors, kick the tires, and read what the owners who have come before you have to say before you can make a decision. Without a doubt, the more diligently you search, the more evident the solution will be. The Arctic Fox is the ideal choice if you want amazing features, high-quality build, and unmatched manufacturer support all in one package.
The Northwood Manufacturing dealership in San Diego and Imperial Counties is a source of great pride for us here at Norm’s RV. Selections from the Arctic Fox and Wolf Creek truck camper lines, as well as the Arctic Fox and Nash travel trailer lines, as well as the Arctic Fox and Fox Mountain fifth wheel lines, are available for immediate delivery.
The Arctic Fox Camper
With this Arctic Fox Camper truck camper, you can travel in complete luxury! All of the amenities that this camper has to offer are sure to please you, whether you’re relaxing on the booth dinette, sleeping in the RV queen bed, or washing up in the complete bathroom. The pantry will come in handy for keeping your dry goods, and the huge two-door refrigerator will house all of your perishable products in one location.
The Arctic Fox Camper truck camper by Northwood is a unique vehicle that you should have a look at! With the Arctic Fox camper, you may pick a model that will fit your short-bed vehicle or your long-bed truck, depending on your needs. Because of the four-seasons foam block insulation, you will be able to travel comfortably throughout the whole year. The cathedral-arched ceiling on the inside will also provide you with some more headroom. The back electric awning will keep you covered from the sun while you relax outside, and the outside speakers will provide you with some entertainment while you are outside.
Northwood’s Arctic Fox range is available in a variety of configurations, just like what you would expect on a trailer. You may get an Arctic Fox travel trailer or even an Arctic Fox fifth wheel to accommodate your needs. But it’s just now that I’m taking a look at their truck campers.
The Arctic Fox Camper, like their other models, is a four-season camper that has been extremely well insulated. It’s a touch heavier, but it’s also a little more firmly constructed. If you’re seeking the lightest RV available in any category, you’re not likely to find it in an Arctic Fox model. However, if you’re planning on camping during periods when the temperatures are harsher, you should choose this brand.
One of the features this has is that it has a dry bath, which I think is a really nice touch. The fact that truck campers do not have wet showers has been brought to my attention by more than one individual. There are two types of baths available in today’s Arctic Fox Camper 1150 a dry bath and a wet bath.
Considering that a dry bath is an option, you might wonder why you would want to take a wet bath in the first place. However, there is a good reason for this – more counter space. The wet bath simply takes up less space in the camper’s interior than the dry bath. Arctic Fox has taken use of the available space to expand the counter and cabinet in the galley. It should be noted that there is a closet in the dry bath option that would not be appropriate in a wet bath.
It is very convenient that you can enter from the rear of the camper. Arctic Fox provides you with a variety of step alternatives, including an additional drop-down step in the back of the vehicle. In addition, you’ll be passing over a substantial back bumper, which the manufacturer advises may be used to store not only the sewer hose but also fishing rods. Is it possible that I’m the only one who didn’t think this was a really good idea?
This truck camper has only one slide, which is located on the side of the camper. The dinette in that slide may be converted into a bed measuring 43″ x 76″. The slide is elevated on a step, and there is carpeting in the slide, despite the fact that the majority of the floor of this camper is vinyl flooring. A unique feature of this camper is that it can accommodate up to five people by adding an optional bed above the dinette.
A two-way gas-electric absorption-style refrigerator is located just beyond the dinette, and a closet is located just beyond that.
It is understandable that the window that connects the cab and the camper is referred to as a pass-through window. However, other than Slim Jims, I’m not sure what else you can do when passing through this area. Despite the fact that it is convenient to be able to look inside the camper from the truck cab, I suppose.
Arctic Fox has included a step above the window so that you can get into the 58″ x 80″ bed. An optional counter extension that fits above the step is available. As a result, you wind up having a surprising amount of counter space for a truck camper when you put this system in.
Up in the bedroom, which is located above the pickup’s cab, there is plenty of storage space all around the bed, as you would expect with four wards. However, there are also two hampers and a shelf over the head of the bed to keep things organized (which is at the very nose of the camper).
The kitchen, which is located downstairs, includes a two-bowl sink. In addition, there is a typical three-burner stove with an oven for cooking meals. If you like, you may replace it with a three-burner propane stove with drawers beneath if that is what you desire. Arctic Fox is one of the few RV companies that still provide this option, which is great to know because it’s becoming increasingly rare.
You can particularly appreciate the slide-out pantry that is located between the galley and the bathroom. This is just one of the numerous instances in which Arctic Fox makes excellent use of available space. Behind the dinette, there’s also a shelf equipped with cup holders. Nifty.
Arctic Fox excels in a wide range of tasks, with insulation being a crucial component of those tasks. Even the wet bay door is 1″ thick, which is standard on all of the camper’s outside doors. The wet area, in addition to being heated, is also heated, as are the tanks. When it comes to tanks, this is a fantastic off-grid option, providing a total of 59 gallons of freshwater when you include the water heater in the equation. That’s more than you’ll find in many other travel trailers.
The ceiling of the 2022 model has been elevated by a full 4 inches, and the material covering the ceiling itself is Ozite carpet material. You can do it. If you’re anything like me, you’ll want to get your hands on it as well.
Out on the porch, there’s an attractive drawer setup beneath the main entrance door. In addition, there are more storage compartments than you might expect to find in a pickup camper of this size.
Alternatively, a propane-fueled generator can be used to do this. Additionally, Arctic Fox has a solar option that includes a range of factory-installed solar panel options.
I believe that whether or not you should invest your money in an arctic fox camper would be highly dependent on personal desire and the availability of a local dealer. They are well-constructed campers, and the decision may come down to which one appeals to you the most.
As for the negatives, this one has less inner room simply because of its slide, as opposed to other previous models. However, this also means that this camper is over 800 pounds lighter than it was before. That, too, might make all the difference in the world for some truck owners who are looking to upgrade their vehicles.
Arctic Fox 1150 Dry Bath & Arctic Fox 1150 Wet Bath
The Arctic Fox 1150 Truck Camper is a truck camper that can sleep up to six people. The Arctic Fox 11 footer with complete wall slideout space is the pinnacle of the Arctic Fox line. The 990 model, which is the best-selling model, is quite comparable. CD/DVD player, flatscreen television, overhead bunk/storage, air conditioning, generator, step, microwave, oven/range, roof ladder and rack, and more are included.
Your trip plans will be made much more enjoyable with the inclusion of this Arctic Fox Camper truck camper from Arctic Fox! A huge two-way refrigerator lets you to bring along your favorite meal-prep supplies, and a pantry provides a place to keep your dry goods while you’re away from home. A place to lay your head at the end of each night is provided by the front RV queen bed, while two hampers, four wardrobes, and an overhead shelf in this bedroom area provide storage space for your travel requirements.

Arctic Fox 1140 Dry Bath & Arctic Fox 1140 Wet Bath
This Arctic Fox Camper truck camper provides you with a bath that takes up less room, allowing you to utilize an additional closet for storage space instead! Enjoy a delicious meal while sitting down at the booth dinette, or transform the dinette into a bed measuring 43 inches by 76 inches for sleeping. Additionally, there is an above-cabin bed with storage all around it that is 58″ x 80″ in size.
You may easily transform the sleeping area into an entertainment space by simply adding the optional television. The kitchen, which has a three-burner stove, domestic built-in microwave, spacious two-way refrigerator, and a kitchen skylight with shade, is also a wonderful location to spend time.
When you have the Northwood Arctic Fox Camper truck camper, camping will become a whole lot more enjoyable. No matter if you’re taking it out for a weekend of outdoor sports, such as hunting and fishing, or if you’re driving across the state to visit old friends, you’ll be delighted with all of the amenities that are conveniently located in the rear of your truck.
Among the fetures are a 45-watt solar panel that can be used to generate electricity, a 20,000 BTU auto-ignition furnace that can be used to keep warm when the weather outside turns cold, a luxury bumper with hose carrier, heated holding tanks, and a friction-hinge entry door that won’t blow away in the wind. An outside shower is available for cleaning off muddy boots or equipment after a day in the mud. There is four-season foam block insulation to keep you protected from the changing weather conditions.
Arctic Fox 992
The driver’s side of the 992 features a full-wall slide. Full-wall slides are only available on the driver’s side of the Arctic Fox. It’s crucial to some to know which side of the room the slide is on.
In general, standing in the 992 vs 990 gives the feeling of being in an entirely other place. These campers’ likeness to one another is undeniable, yet they are not identical twins. In other words, you’re more likely to choose one over the other in person. A wooden boat, pushed out to sea, and repeatedly fired with flaming arrows may be used to disprove claims that the new cathedral arch ceilings won’t make much of a difference. With a cathedral arch ceiling, the 992’s interior has an instantly bigger and more spacious impression.
In order to properly understand something, it’s best to see it for yourself in person. The images don’t do justice to the difference in quality. Changes to the main living area, the bathroom, and even the cabover are all impacted by just one small alteration. If you’re thinking about purchasing an Arctic Fox or a similar product, you need to check this out.
Because of the new cathedral arch ceiling, getting to the roof was a little more challenging. There is a significant challenge in crossing the space between awning and roof while ascending and descending the back ladder.
The kitchen on the passenger’s side is sure to appeal to anybody who likes cooking while traveling. A decent amount of counter space, a double sink, a lot of upper and lower cupboards, a stainless steel microwave, a propane range top, and an oven should be plenty to satisfy even the most discerning traveler’s needs.
Another wonderful feature of this kitchen is the wide skylight that overlooks the entryway and the two windows with LED under cabinet lighting and a 110-volt under cabinet outlet. Two residential-style pull-out drawers on steel roller bearings are located under the counter top. For the vast majority of people, the top drawer will be a silverware drawer. For bigger cooking utensils, pot holders, and other kitchen paraphernalia, the lowest drawer in this camper would be reserved for this purpose. When it comes to storing stuff, this is one of my favorite things to do.
People who ride passenger-side in the 992 must crawl over each other to get in and out of bed because of the car’s huge bath wall in the backseat. This is the price you pay for enjoying a massive dry bath.
This floor design has a lot going on, especially when you take into account the new cathedral arch ceilings. This camper had a few minor flaws, but overall, we were impressed by the quality of its build and attention to detail. In the meanwhile, here are a few details about this luxurious vessel.
Arctic Fox 990
This Arctic Fox os equipped with all stainless steel equipment, which included a microwave, range hood, range oven, and refrigerator, among others. The use of stainless steel in the interior of the 990 creates a brighter and more contemporary appearance. Of course, not everyone prefers the aesthetic of stainless steel, and you will have to wipe fingerprints a little more frequently if you choose stainless steel over more standard black equipment. Personally, I enjoy the stainless steel style, and I hope that Northwood continues to push its interior aesthetic to be more current in its design choices.
In the kitchen, there is a storage space behind the two slide-out drawers. We’re always in favor of extra storage, and this recessed nook has been done in a classy manner to accommodate us. We would use it as a spice rack, at the very least, because it is easily accessible. Speaking of racks, there is an in-set storage area on the front wall, next to the refrigerator, which is worth mentioning. This would be ideal for storing books, maps, and other media things that would otherwise take up valuable space in a truck camper if not provided a dedicated storage space.
Northwood also crammed an incredible storage drawer immediately to the right of the step-up into the wet bath, where it may be found. I’m not sure what we’d use it for, but it’s a substantial-sized drawer that will be a really welcome addition to our home furnishings. It appears that Northwood is locating locations throughout the camper where they can install in-set storage and discovered drawers.
One of the main reasons for the 990’s success is that it has a beautiful wide-open full-wall slide-out floor design that is available in a variety of lengths from nine to ten feet. If it were to take any longer, it may potentially impede some towing applications. If you go any smaller, you’ll end up with the Arctic Fox 811, which is effectively a 990 with a smaller dinette and kitchen, as well as less storage space.
Northwood makes up for the weight of the 990 with the quality and value that it offers its customers. We have been quite satisfied with the quality of Arctic Fox truck campers over the past several years, which has included two Northwood factory tours, one year-long Arctic Fox camper loan, numerous in-depth evaluations, and hearing hundreds of Arctic Fox owner comments.
Arctic Fox 811
The color schemes for the inside and exterior are contemporary and elegant. In the inside, the cabinets are finished in a beautiful dark cherry wood finish that contrasts beautifully with the stainless steel equipment. With the help of fabric pull-down shades, the windows are neatly covered, and the carpeted ceiling gives even more warmth to an already comfortable and appealing environment.
The Arctic Fox 811 is a huge and extremely hefty camper, with a dry weight of 3,500 pounds. Indeed, the height of the camper that was put on our vehicle was somewhat higher than I you’d anticipated.
A lot more than you’d anticipate, and possibly more than you’ll ever require, is available in the kitchen. The three-burner stove performs admirably, is simple to use, and is as simple to clean. The pantry has enough dry goods storage, which is provided by a well-constructed two-tiered wire rack system with a recessed door. Even on extended road trips, the three-way, two-door, 6 cubic foot refrigerator and freezer has provided us with more space than we required while keeping our food and beverages perfectly chilled.
The camper is equipped with three big holding tanks: a 50-gallon fresh water tank, a 23-gallon black tank, and a 38-gallon gray tank, among others. It is simple and quick to empty the tanks, thanks to the fact that the sewage hose storage is conveniently located in the back bumper, directly close to the sewer connection.
Arctic Fox 865
Excellent non-slide, mid-bath floor layout, as well as high-quality construction. The panoramic back view, full-booth dinette, straight kitchen, huge wet bath, and cabover bedroom separation all contribute to the floor plan’s excellent functionality and efficiency. The superior quality of Northwood’s products ensures that the end result is a true winner.
There are a couple of minor quibbles. For starters, there does not appear to be a convenient location for a kitchen garbage can. A disadvantage of the wet bath is that the vanity mirror is located in an uncomfortable location over the toilet. In addition, extreme caution should be exercised when ascending the back ladder and passing through the rear awning and cathedral arch roof.
None of this detracts from the superb build quality, fit and finish, and overall appearance of this item, which are all obvious throughout. It also has no negative impact on the incredible quantity of storage space accessible. This device is suited for serious truck camping if the components are properly matched.
We encourage you to visit an Arctic Fox 865 in person, even if you’re already browsing for single-slide truck campers for sale. Depending on your perspective, you could be pleasantly surprised by how open and spacious this floor plan seems. It’s a complete and utter knockout.
